Home Remedies for Ringworm (Dermatophytosis)


Ringworm (Dermatophytosis) is a common fungal infection on the skin and is due to a fungus but not a worm. Ringworm is communicable infection, which can be passed from person to person by contact with infected skin areas or by sharing combs and brushes, other personal care items, or clothing. It causes a scaly, crusted rash that may appear as round, red patches on the skin and later spreads to other parts of the body. It may affect the skin of the scalp, feet, groin, beard, or other areas.

Ringworm (Dermatophytosis) Causes:
– Ringworm is caused due to the infection of Fungus, but not a worm.
– Usually, Tinea corporis is caused with an infection with “Trichophyton rubrum”fungus, which transmits from a person to another.
– Another, “Microsporum canis” fungus transmitted from dog and cat.
Who Is at Risk for Ringworm (Dermatophytosis)?
People are at r!$k for infection of ringworm are:-
-People who shares combs and brushes, other personal care items, or clothing.
-Whose immune capacity is low or who are diabetes or cancer patients.
– Who most often stay in warm, moist climates.
To be careful by ringworm infected people;
– Should keep the skin clean and dry. Not to use same shocks, underwear, clothing for long time.
– Avoiding tight clothes. Should use air-conditioning clothes for ringworm.
– Dry out well to body after bath. Should not have clothing instant after dry of body with towel.
– Avoid sharing personal items such as clothing or hairbrushes.
– Should use hot or anti-fungus soap during cloth wash.
– If you have a pet, keep its living areas clean and disinfected.

Home Remedies for Ringworm:
Ringworm is serious and communicable infection which is very difficult for treatment and also takes a time. There are lots of medical cream and medicine for it’s cure, which can not be taken without any consult with doctors. However, it is better to apply home remedies than the chemical treatment. Because, the chemical affects our immunity capacity and needs to use more powerful medicine in future. Also, these kind of medicine is full o side effects, which only adds the pain.
1. Garlic
Garlic is a great enemy of ringworm because of it’s two compounds “allicin” and “ajoene”, which are antibacteial or antifungus. So:-
-Take 2/3 fresh garlic and squeeze it to make a paste.
– Olive oil is much good with garlic paste.
-Now, clean well to ringworm with lukewarm water and dry with soft clean cloth and have a paste in those areas.
– Have that paste for 2 hours in maximum and wash out with lukewarm water. Be careful that more than 2 hours will give the negative reaction for it.
– Do it twice a day for better result.

2. Raw Turmeric
Make a juice of fresh and raw turmeric and paste in ringworm area. An anti-biotic character of it, is very helpful for fungus infection. Wash with lukewarm water after having a paste of raw turmeric for 2 hours.

3. Vinegar and Salt
Make a thick paste of vinegar and salt, then apply at the infected places. Clean after 5 minutes with lukewarm water. Gradually, the ringworm infection decreases at least within a week or 2 week with the 2 times application of this process in a day
