Gary Neville will be welcomed back as a pundit by Sky Sports, after his was dismissed by Valencia .

When the England coach quit his Sky Sports duties last December Barney Francis, the television station’s head of sport, said “the door will always be open should he wish to return.”

Neville , 41, is available sooner than anyone could have imagined. No contact has been made yet with the departing Valencia coach but the fact he has been sacked from his first managerial post will not undermine his status with Sky Sports.
Miror Sport understands that Sky will ask Neville if and when he wants to return as one of their headline pundits to deliver his highly-valued match and player analysis.

LIVE: Update and reaction as Gary Neville and Valencia part ways
The former Manchester United boss was sacked from Valencia after just four months in charge.

The Englishman took over from Nuno Espírito Santo in the autumn as the club disappointed in both their La Liga and Champions League campaigns.
Indeed, Neville's first game in charge resulted in Champions League elimination at the hands of Lyon and the club then went on to record a nine-game winless streak in the league under his stewardship.
While Valencia eventually got their first La Liga win under Neville on February 13th, mixed results followed and the side's agonising elimination from the Europa League two weeks ago effectively iignalled the end of their season.

Neville, 41, was still intent on earning a long-term deal to manage the club but mixed results failed to win over the club's notoriously vociferous support and the Bury-born coach has left the club.
The club confirmed the news in a statement on their website.

"Valencia Football Club have today parted company with Gary Neville as Head Coach," it read.

"We thank Gary for his work at Valencia 4=u74nd wish him the best in the future."
The former England defender thanked the club in a statement of his own following his exit.
"I would like to thank Valencia Football Club, the fans, staff and the players," he said.
"I would have liked to have continued the work I started but understand that we are in a results business and in the 28 games (W10, D7, L11) they have not been to my standards or to those which are required by this club.
Former Liverpool assist-9ant Pako Ayestaran has been named as the head coach for the rest of the season.
