How to know that you are fat or thin from Body Mass Index- BMI?
BMI gives the result to your fatness or thinness of your body according to height.
The process to find out result from BMI:-
Result of BMI comes after dividing your body weight with your height(m) square.For example;
Your Body Weight = 55 kg
Your Height = 5.6 ft =66 inch = 1.6764 m
Thus, BMI = weight/ (height)² = 55/ (1.6764)² = 19.5
Worldwide Health Specialists believes that:-
BMI lower than 18.5 is “thin”.
BMI from 18.7 to 25 is “Appropriate Weight”.
BMI between 25-30 is “more weight”.
BMI more than 30 is “too much fat”.
BMI is a common measurement, which does not measure the waist, chest or back muscles of body. People who are fat by sitting at home will have more fatty stomach and BMI don’t give a measurement to that. Similarly, sports people will have tight muscles which is also not measured by BMI. BMI will not be able yo give right result of body weight. The result of BMI may show that the people becoming fat at living house are more healthy than sports person.
Similarly, it don’t give attention towards the mass. Some people may have big bone but a less flesh and vice versa, from which BMI would not be able to give the result of who is healthier than who.
Thus, BMI is calculated only with the height and body weight. It can not differentiate between fat and muscles. However, can check your body weight appropriation through BMI.
